Jelly Beans - The Answer

(Solution Hidden)

Here is the answer to the Jelly Beans problem.

Let X = total number of jelly beans in the bowl.

Let R = red jelly beans in the bowl.

Let G = green jelly beans in the bowl.

Let B = blue jelly beans in the bowl.

Let Y = yellow jelly beans in the bowl.

Then, we have the following equations:

R = X - 16

G = X - 16

B = X - 16

Y = X - 18

Now, since R + G + B + Y = X, we get:

(X-16) + (X-16) + (X-16) + (X-18) = X

This reduces to:

4X - 66 = x

and further reduces to

3x = 66

So, there are 22 jelly beans in the bowl (6 red, 6 green, 6 blue, and 4 yellow).
